Review of Class A and Class B CSC Benefits
Request a Review of Your CSC Invalidity Classification
If you have been assessed as Class A or Class B by the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC), your classification may be reviewed if your circumstances have changed.
A review allows CSC to reassess your level of incapacity and determine whether your classification still reflects your current situation.
Understanding The Process
-
A review may be considered where there has been a relevant change since your original assessment.
This can include:
Changes in your medical condition (improvement or deterioration)
Changes in your ability to work
New employment in a role not previously considered
Additional qualifications or training
Updated medical evidence
Even if your condition remains the same, changes in your overall capacity for work may affect your classification.
-
Reviews are only available for members who were initially classified as:
Class A, or
Class B
If you were classified as Class C, you are not eligible to request a review through CSC.
-
CSC will reassess your situation based on updated information, including:
Your current medical condition
Your ability to perform suitable civilian work
Your employment history since your original classification
Any new qualifications or training
Updated medical or specialist reports
The goal is to determine whether your current classification still reflects your level of incapacity.
-
Following a review, your classification may:
Remain the same
Be increased (for example, from Class B to Class A)
Be reduced, depending on your current capacity
Each case is assessed based on the evidence provided.
